• Pre-breeding and development of elite breeding materials for use in genetic enhancement / crop improvement.

The R&D activities related with development of hybrids/varieties are the major focus of the Kanha Seeds Company, company which is carried out on the research farm at Dastan Farm, Dist.-Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The research farm is well laid out in an area of about 10 Acres with well irrigation facilities. The modern facilities for safe storage of seed have also been built at the research farm for safety and proper handlings of the breeding materials / products.

With the objective of providing high yielding and quality seeds to the farmers, the Kanha Seeds Company is engaged in the development of hybrids/varieties in different crops for increasing productivity of crops, promoting economic growth and livelihood of the farmers. During the last three years, considerable efforts have been made to expand the R&D activities by using diversified germplasm and improved parental lines. Significant efforts for crop improvement for hybrids/Open pollinated varieties especially in Rice, Wheat, Maize, Pearlmillet, Sorghum (fodder), Rape seed & Mustard, Castor, Sesame, Groundnut, Mungbean, Uradbean, Cowpea, Clusterbean, Cumin, Lucerene, Watermelon, Bhendi, Chilly, Bottle gourd, Sponge gourd, Bitter gourd etc. have been made resulting into development of a number of hybrids & the varieties. These products are in various stages of commercialization.
